Drama Queen

I was on-called last Tuesday. It was about 3:30 a.m. I had just finished reviewing one patient in ED when the ED doctor referred to me another patient. This one came with a deep wound over her buttock after being bullied (or should I say, being kicked in the butt) by a group of 'mat rempit', so as she claimed. Interestingly, she was not really a she but a Mak Nyah. Whatever la kan....

I was about to go and review the patient when they pushed her to the radiology department to get X-rays done. Remind you, at that time it was almost 4 a.m and I was dying to get some sleep. Not going to wait around for her to come back from x-rays, I tried to snooze in the surau and asked my houseman to clerk the case first. After she had finished clerking, my houseman woke me up and we went to see the patient together. Prior to that, she had warned me that patient did not want any surgical intervention done to her. Fine, I'm going to be dealing with a difficult patient. That was my thought at that time.

So I went to the patient and examined her. She was a mess with poor self hygiene. Her jarum susuk (x 4) showed up on X-ray. Ha-ha. I examined the wound on her right buttock. Damn... it was a big deep wound that definitely need to be cleaned and closed in the operation theater. I told the patient the same thing. She refused the surgery and I tried to convince her. Suddenly she jumped off from the examining couch and said these, "Eh tak nak lah operate2. You ni banyak tanya lah! You don't danger my life OK!" Then she stormed out from ED. My houseman and I, we were glancing at each other, trying to make sense of what had just happened. Then, we chased after her but couldn't find her anywhere. Her friend (another mak nyah) who brought in the patient came to us and told us that the patient was somehow crazy (due to bela saka) and that she had ran out towards the road. Uh, WTH??? Her friend said that she will try to find her and bring her back to ED. But she never came back.

Hahaha...sakit jiwa aku. Dah lah kacau aku nak tido....last2 lari pulak. Sabar je laa.....drama 3 pagi sungguh >_<
